Abstract

Cerebrovascular diseases represent a group of disorders characterized by
etiopathogenetic features, resulting from impaired cerebral blood flow and ischemic damage to
the brain, leading to morphological and functional changes. According to the World Health
Organization, the incidence of these diseases is expected to nearly double by 2030, reaching up to
75.6 million cases. Furthermore, acute forms of cerebrovascular disease remain the second
leading cause of death globally, ranking just after cardiovascular diseases among noncommunicable pathologies.
